As an umbrella organisation, the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) unites trade associations and regional organisations, companies and associations from all sectors and application areas of renewable energies in Germany. In its work, the BEE covers topics relating to energy generation, transmission via grid infrastructures and energy consumption. Our goal:

For our Chamber and Association Partnership (KVP) with three key South African renewable energy associations we are looking for you on site in South Africa (predominantly Johannesburg & Pretoria) as
Coordinator for German-South African Association Partnership Project (w/m/d)
Your tasks
▪ Steering of an international multi-stakeholder project involving three South African renewable energy associations and four German partner associations.
▪ Responsibility for all phases of project management:
□ Planning and continuous adaptation of project measures in cooperation with all partners.
□ Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the project's progress and impact to the German coordinating association (BEE) and the government sponsor (BMZ). This includes impact-oriented project monitoring, regular measurement and documentation of Key Performance Indicators.
▪ Coordination and deployment of short-time experts (KZE) from Germany and potentially local or other international experts, including defining their tasks (Terms of Reference) in consultation with the South African partners.
▪ Design and implementation of trainings, seminars, and workshops to enhance the capacities of the South African partner associations.
▪ Public relations for the project, including building relationships with local government stakeholders, businesses, and civil society organisations. This also involves coordination with other projects and official bodies like the German Embassy and relevant ministries in South Africa.
▪ Co-development and support of joint communication measures by the three South African associations
▪ Establishment and maintenance of the necessary project infrastructure (e.g., project office, local staff) in South Africa.
▪ Facilitating cooperation and networking among the South African and German partner organisations, as well as with other relevant actors in the renewable energy sector in South Africa
Your profile
▪ Work experience of at least 5 years in a relevant field (must).
▪ Business fluent in English (must).
▪ Proven experience in the management and coordination of multi-stakeholder projects, including budgeting and financial administration (must).
▪ Demonstrable experience in PR and communications (must).
▪ Willingness to take on both management and administrative tasks (must).
▪ Fluent in German (a plus).
▪ Knowledge of administrative processes in projects with German or European government sponsors (desirable).
▪ Knowledge of technologies and a personal network in the sector of renewable energies (desirable).
▪ Experience in development cooperation and intercultural competence (highly desirable).
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

About the Project:
This project is a collaboration within the framework of a Chamber and Association Partnership (KVP) between the Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie (BEE), acting as the German coordinating association, and three key South African renewable energy associations: the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA), and the Southern African Biogas Industry Association (SABIA). The partnership aims to strengthen the South African associations to more effectively support and represent the renewable energy sector in South Africa. The project also involves three German partner associations (BSW-Solar, BWE, FvB). sequa gGmbH acts as the implementing organisation and is responsible for quality assurance towards the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), which funds the program. This role will be central to the successful implementation and coordination of this multi-stakeholder initiative.
